since 2013

This farm, originally directly managed by ATA has been placed  since October 2012 under the management of the Nutrispir-Antenna association, founded by Christian RANDRIANASOLE, former Operations Director at ATA.

  • Production is perfectly monitored. 270kg of spirulina were produced in 2013.
  • Sufficient outlets were found both for social and commercial distribution
  • 20% of production goes to the Antsirabé Rotary Club for humanitarian purposes
  • This farm is now fully self-reliant technically and financially.

1st semester 2014

Although, the farm is technically and financially self-reliant, we have news to share with you regarding production. Currently 4 permanent staff are running the farm.
150m2 of pond area out of a total available area of 250m2 have produced 116kg of spirulina, which amounts to a productivity rate of 4.3 g/m2/day. 25kg have been donated to the Antsirabé Rotary Club for humanitarian purposes, thus allowing to provide a nutritional supplement to the meals of 250 malnourished children.

Looking back on 2012

  • Output growth resumed well : 213kg were produced this year.
  • The farm provides work for 4 people on average.
  • 28.4kg of spirulina were donated to the Rotary Club of Antsirabé for humanitarian purposes. At the end of December, 33kg were available to them. These donations represent the equivalent of individual spirulina doses for 620 children during 6 weeks.
  • In October 2012, the Mandray Farm’s management team changed, as it was agreed that the Nutrispir-Antenna association would take over. This management closer to the field enabled a significant improvement of the farm’s productivity and helped increase its reactivity in dealing with possible technical problems.
